Thank you, Rae Charos, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer
After serving St. Joseph’s Medical Center for 32 years, Rae Charos, DNP, RN, is retiring at the end of January 2022. Rae’s journey with St. Joseph’s began in 1990 as an instructor in the hospital’s education department. Eleven years later, she stepped into the role of Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, carrying the passion for education and pursuing advanced degrees with her. Rae is now the longest serving Chief Nursing Officer at Dignity Health to date.
“Being the Chief Nurse at St. Joseph’s has been a fascinating, exciting, and wonderful opportunity and a very fulfilling career,” Rae said.
Rae was the visionary behind St. Joseph’s Nurses Society, and has always been a supporter of St. Joseph’s Foundation. Established in 2017, the Nurses Society was created to support and promote fellowship and continued education for past, current and future nurses. Her dedication to nursing education and leadership is evident by her example of pursuing advanced degrees and certifications throughout her career, most recently earning her doctorate in nursing practice seven years ago.
To continue her support of nursing education, Rae expressed the desire for gifts to be made to St. Joseph’s Foundation in honor of her retirement. Use the secure donation form below to make your gift. We will send a special acknowledgement to Rae notifying her of your thoughtful contribution. Your gift amount is always confidential.
